Community Support Workers
The Organisation
Operating across Devon and Torbay, Headway Devon is a local charity dedicated to improving life after brain injury.
Brain injuries are a hidden disability that can affect personalities, relationships and the ability to lead an independent life. When a person’s life is turned upside down by brain injury, we ensure they get the help and support they need and deserve.
Now, we’re looking for a Centre Support Worker to join our team in our Exeter Day Centre on a permanent, part-time basis, working seven hours per week on Tuesdays.

The Role
As a Community Support Worker, you will with individuals throughout Devon in a community setting to achieve their goals, maximise independent living and facilitate social inclusion. This would include supporting our clients with daily tasks, attending appointments, accessing the community and developing general life skills and building confidence and self esteem.
About You
To be considered as a Community Support Worker, you will need:
– At a minimum, GCSEs at grade C or above in maths and English, or equivalent
– Excellent organisational skills
– Strong communication skills
Experience and/or knowledge of working in the voluntary or care sector would be beneficial to your application, as would experience of working with people with acquired brain injuries. A care qualification would also be an advantage, as would experience working in the care sector.
