If you or someone you care about, as been affected by acquired brain injury, Headway Devon are here to help.

Headway Devon has over 16 years of experience in working with people who have sustained brain injuries from a wide range of causes including: head injury and traumatic brain injury, stroke, haemorrhage, aneurysm,  brain tumour, meningitis, encephalitis, hydrocephalus, toxic damage and hypoxic or anoxic damage, as well as many other accidents, illnesses and conditions.

As the effects of brain injury are far-reaching, all of our workers receive extensive specialist training to ensure that they are well-equipped to meet the needs of people with brain injuries. As well as supporting people with physical disabilities such as paralysis, muscle weakness, epilepsy, poor coordination and sensory impairment, our staff are able to support people with emotional, social and cognitive difficulties such as personality change, mood swings, memory loss, limited concentration, anger management, lack of insight, self-centredness, confusion, anxiety an depression.

Our services are highly flexible and a tailor-made package can be created to suit each individual’s needs. As well as being able to support people with brain injuries to live independently through providing personal care, our one-to-one service and network of day centres are also able to help people to get the most out of their lives and achieve their goals. Whether a person wants to learn to swim, get a better grip on their finances, move house, meet new people, improve their cognitive skills, or simply enable families and carers to enjoy some respite, Headway Devon can create a care package that will meet these needs.

At Headway Devon we have an open referral system, which means that you don’t need to go through a doctor or social care professional to receive our services – instead if you think that we might be able to help, you can fill in our referral form which can be downloaded here or give us a call on 01392 211822 and one of our friendly office team members will be able to fill one out for you over the telephone.
